The Exotic Expands
Career:
"When I was young, I wanted to do something more low-key, like become a drummer
in a rock band," revealed model, presenter and actress Brooke Burke whose
dazzling exotic visage has been adored by magazine readers and TV audiences.
Accidentally noticed by a talent scout while accompanying her friend to a
modeling agency in Scottsdale, Burke soon attempted modeling in her homeland
while obtaining an acting scholarship.
Burke has brains and managed her limited time to include both
studying broadcast journalism at UCLA and modeling. She landed several deals
with agencies like Ford, Wilhelmina and
Cunningham-Escott-Dipene. Simultaneously she landed numerous magazine covers,
billboards, swimsuit editorials, catalogues, posters, as well as well-known
advertisements. Brooke became a figure for Bally's Total Fitness, Yankee's
Shortstop and Discover Card. She also worked ads for Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch
and M Professional Cosmetics.
Burke's big break would come in 1999 when E! Entertainment
Television searched for a substitute host for their show Wild On. Burke's friend
suggested she interview with the network. Apparently, Burke was the right person
and producers gave her a try-out show in Spain in which she had to take part in
a tomato war, La Tomatina. The producers were pleased and Burke scored a
three-year contract.
Wild On aired at midnight, six nights in a week, and took Burke
to the most exotic panoramas on the globe, such as Australia, Bali and Belize.
"The sun is always shining somewhere in the world and that's where we go," said
Burke. The show also landed her the representative spot for Norwegian Cruise
Line.
The high publicity of Wild On skyrocketed Burke's name and in
May of 2001 she posed for Playboy. After Wild On, Burke continued to work for
E!, hosting their famous show Rank, and Live From The Red Carpet as well as
appearing on The Weakest Link and That's Life. During this time, Burke also
hosted ABC's Family Behind the Scenes Gilmore Girls and Smallville's Backstage
Special.

Than Perfect in 2004 and Life is Great with Brooke Burke. As for the big screen,
Burke appeared in 2004's The Hazing, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and
Knuckle Sandwich. She also provided her voice for Atari's Trivial Pursuit video
game People and Places.
